Mechanic Assistant

Amerit Fleet Solutions is looking for mechanically inclined/maintenance workers to join our professional team for a 5 week temporary assignment working on one of the nation’s largest fleets. Our team is completing basic installations of in-cab cameras in a fleet vehicles and trucks.

Ideal candidates: background in automotive/diesel, installation, electrician/electrical, manual labor, or equipment/building maintenance.

Work Shifts: 3rd shift - 7pm start. Overtime available.

Payrate: $23 - $28hr + completion bonus (based on performance)

Start Date: Assignment starts January 4th. 5 weeks work with potential to extend or convert.

Responsibilities:

• Independently work on installing new camera equipment on fleet vehicles.
• Assist allocated Lead Technician in the installation, trouble shooting and repair of equipment.
• Communicate and work closely with Lead Technician on work status and progress.
• Ability to follow direction as well as work independently.
• Continually work with Safety First in mind to protect yourself, others, and the company.
• Maintain professionalism in all aspects of your role.
• Contribute to team effort by performing additional duties as requested.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1-2 years of industry experience (automotive, electrical or maintenance etc) or transferable skills.
• All job offers are contingent upon a NEGATIVE DRUG SCREEN TEST, CLEAN BACKGROUND CHECK.
• Understanding of Electrical – highly desired.
• Basic hand tools – required.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to adhere to install standard repair times.
• Willingness to work outdoors.
• Working knowledge of iPad, iPhones, and basic computer use.
• Show enthusiasm and demonstrate a positive attitude.
• Practice self-discipline; be driven and take initiative.

Working Conditions

• Exposure to considerable amounts of dust, diesel fumes and noise
• Exposure to chemicals, oils, greases or other irritants
• Ability to move and position heavy objects
• Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel and crawl to repair vehicles
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
