This position performs clerical tasks in the production control function. Sorts, posts and files inventory records and production schedules. Estimates and records production rates, prepares shop orders and reviews stock records to determine stock status against project requirements. Performs a variety of coordinating, routing, and material handling duties to meet production schedules. Monitors the flow of materials and parts between departments in order to meet scheduled commitments. Expedites parts to remedy shortage problems. Internally picks-up and delivers materials within company and maintains records on material flow. Ensures incoming materials are properly routed. Maintains files, logs records of invoices, purchase orders and other related documentation. Maintains information on computer systems. Develops and maintains resources for assigned commodity items. Assignments require initiative regarding pricing revisions, order cancellations, discontinued items, acceptable substitutes, delivery date revisions and invoice discrepancies. Will assist in packaging and labeling outgoing and incoming material in a manner to ensure undamaged delivery to the proper recipient. Will assist in receiving, inspecting, unpacking and verifying all incoming material against packing list and PO. Ideal candidates will have experience in inventory control and related experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • JOB COMPLEXITY: Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • SUPERVISION: Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments. May provide guidance to other nonexempt personnel.
  • EXPERIENCE: Typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of related experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Attends and contributes to daily production meetings.
  • Performs inventory counts and reconciles inventory variances on a weekly basis.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of expense parts, consumables, and production operating supplies.
  • Attend training and learn new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
  • Works with multiple departments to order tools, tool parts and other specialty items.
  • Responsible for packaging parts for shipment and inventorying received parts.
  • Tracks order shipment and/or receiving dates and completes corresponding paperwork.
  • May occasionally assist accounting and procurement.
  • Work closely with production and maintains responsibility of production inventory for consumable and stocked parts.
  • Works with production team to provide kits of necessary items.

REQUIRED:
  • Associates degree with 2-4 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance, Repair and Operating (MRP) parts buying, Build of Material (BOM) structure and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing business practices.

DESIRED:
  • Knowledge of print-head manufacturing processes relevant to materials coordination.
  • Previous SAP experience
  • Inventory control experience.
