About the Position: Incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the warehouse. Serves as the agent responsible for the receiving, storing and assembling for issue and shipment of a variety of maintenance and office supplies, furniture, equipment or similar type warehouse stock.
Responsibilities
- Receives, inspects and unloads all incoming supplies, equipment and furniture using hand carts other non-mechanized conveyances or forklift.
- Maintains logs and files of purchase orders, blanket purchase agreements, incoming parcels, packages, and letters to document the receipt and distribution of warehouse stock.
- Packs and loads furniture, supplies and other items for shipment to field offices or property disposal sites.
- Stores items for maximum convenience of handling and ease of movement.
- Annotates overage, shortage, damaged or incorrect material on receipt documents and notifies recipients, property book officer, supervisor, and procurement or other appropriate official.
- Brings Government vehicles such as sedans, pickup trucks and vans equipped with standard controls, to local service centers for preventive maintenance and repairs.

I have the ability to perform common duties of the day-to-day operation of a warehouse. I can receive, load,store, and ship equipment and materials; maintain files of purchase orders, purchase agreements, and shipping documents; and operate forklifts and vehicles to transport materials. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.- Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision

- Physical Effort: The incumbent must possess the ability to lift and carry weights up to 40 pounds. Heavier items are moved with weight handling equipment or with assistance from other employees. Required to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time, and to bend, stoop and work in tiring and sometimes uncomfortable positions. Must meet physical qualifications required for permit to operate a forklift truck and motor vehicle weighing up to 1/2 ton.
- Working Conditions: Work is performed inside warehouse in bin rooms, in open storage areas and on receiving and shipping docks. The areas may be hot, damp, cold, drafty or poorly lighted. Work is performed in closed quarters. Regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasion falls and injury from falling stock. Exposed to dust, dirt, grease, and solvents. Work requires wearing safety shoes in the performance of official duties.
