Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair for: building systems, industrial systems, vehicles, and equipment. Has specialized knowledge of overhead doors, conveyors, plant equipment, and material handling equipment. Responds to general maintenance duties and operates building equipment and systems. Utilizes several trade skills such as machining, plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling. Working under limited supervision
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.
Performs assigned repairs and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.
Performs specialized tasks such as overhead doors, conveyors, other material handling equipment, electrical, roofing, HVAC, and welding tasks.
Replace overhead door panels, replacing and adjusting tension springs.
Repair and replace door operators and controls.
Troubleshooting, adjusting, and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers, servo driven equipment, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), photo electrical devices, transducers, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and encoders.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
Welding equipment such as hand rails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grading.
Performing preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment.
Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed
Completes administrative tasks timely; work order management, vehicle maintence, payroll and timekeeping, and expense reports.
Performs work in compliance with standard operating procedures and/or critical work packages, and maintenance work instructions.
Uses PC, tablet, and/or cell phone for work order systems and email.
Performs other duties as assigned.
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks as needed for multiple technician jobs.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Associates Degree (AA/AS) in Mechanical or Electrical field of study preferred. Minimum of 4 years of related experience and/or training.
Previous work experience with Automated conveyor systems and controls, preventive maintenance procedures, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs, National Electric Code (NEC).
Previous work experience with blueprints and schematics; Electrical and electronic principles, Industrial electrical, electronics, and controls, work order management.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out general instructions in standard situations. Ability to solve problems in standard situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, long periods of standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Previous leadership, vendor management, and robotic maintenance experience preferred.
