ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides leadership to ensure employees demonstrate appropriate work skills, technical accuracy, efficiency and conformity to company policies.
Plans and directs team activities and establishes production priorities.
Coordinates Receiving activities with all departments.
Maximizes productivity of teams through proficient use of equipment, tools and software applications.
Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
Reviews and analyzes causes of production, operating or quality problems and helps to determine solutions.
Communicates and implements company policies and procedures. Monitors enforcement of policies on a fair and consistent basis.
Relays and shares information with employees and other departments in a timely manner.
Schedules meetings with staff and attends meetings with other departments to ensure optimum communication.
Regularly monitors each team member's adherence to safe work practices and company's safety policies.
Provides positive and negative feedback to employees verbally and in writing.
Documents feedback through Confirmations of Conversations (COC) or reprimands.
Conducts or participates in performance reviews for employees.
Ensures employees receive appropriate training necessary to meet and exceed job expectations.
Helps identify and mentor employees with potential as future leaders.
Participates in development of departmental budget and implements cost reduction programs.
Prepares activities reports for guidance of management.
Provides technical support to the Environmental Services Section of the Office of Environmental Health and Safety primarily in the area of hazardous (chemical), waste management, Assistance with environmental compliance programs will occasionally be necessary.
Duties related to EH&S include:
Identification of potential hazardous waste streams.
Collection and transportation of hazardous waste from generators to a storage area.
Training Receiving personnel on proper storage and documentation.
Arranging for waste disposal via a commercial vendor.
Maintaining waste paperwork and reporting, following EHS standard operating procedures.
Scheduling timely waste pick-ups and treatment.
Providing oversight of Main Accumulation Site, housekeeping, labeling etc.
Assisting EHS personnel with packaging and transportation of waste from generation point to storage areas.
Assisting with environmental compliance programs and perform other functions as needed and identified by the Area Leader, or EHS Manager in support of other EHS programs.
Communicating all concerns with EHS Manager.
Serving as Emergency Spill First Responder.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Two Years Experience as Team Leader or Other Leadership Experience
Strong knowledge of PGT products and processes
Preferred: At least one-year experience segregating and packaging for disposal of typical indudstrial wastes.
Experience with packaging, transporting and managing biological waste program
Participate in annual RCRA standards, and/or Spill Response training
LANGUAGE / COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must be able to communicate well with employees, management and co-workers
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Must be able to calculate and determine accuracy of staff’s calculations
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to assess complex situations and make appropriate decisions
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
None required, training will be provided through PGT in regard to PGT chemical and hazardous waste policies. Refresher training is required annually.

Frequently work in un-air-conditioned manufacturing plant environment
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel occasionally domestically.
Occasional: activity exists less than 1/3 of the time.
Frequent: activity exists 1/3 and 2/3 of the time.
