Position Overview
This position is responsible for safely performing job functions at the highest level of quality. The Material Handler is also responsible for providing accurate paperwork and record keeping. The candidate must have knowledge of Hazardous Waste Handling and can follow all company rules, policies and OSHA/EPA regulations.
Job Responsibilities
Pick and stage material for production lines
Receive inbound shipments; ship outbound material; all related/corresponding activities
Load and unload material from various carriers
Cycle count and physical inventory
Housekeeping and other 5S activities
Accurately store all warehouse materials
Responsibility and adherence of RCRA requirements
Use computers and scanners to perform transactions
Interpret work order and sales order material/delivery requirements
Follow and abide by defined business processes and procedures
Work with members of supply chain to resolve issues and improve processes
Responsible for accurate and complete inventory transactions in SAP
Investigate and correct transactions as required
Maintain a safe work area, participate in safety training and follow all defined OSHA guidelines
Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe work conditions to supervisor
Participate in continuous improvement teams
Assist with the training of other material handlers
Work to gain knowledge of all warehouse activities
Perform tasks accurately and timely. Work with limited supervision
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
3 years of material handling experience, shipping and receiving experience, preferred
High school diploma or GED
Forklift experience preferred; must pass Pall certification requirements
Must be familiar with other warehouse equipment including pallet jacks, docking stations & scales
Computer skills required; SAP experience, preferred
Must be able to work any shift and be flexible to work overtime as needed
HazMat experience, preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work in a warehouse environment, which requires standing, sitting, walking, bending, kneeling and lifting 50lbs on a regular basis
Understanding of requirements for LTL, small parcel, exports, UPS/FedEx
