Purpose and Responsibility of the Position:
The Material Handler is responsible to ensure that the Customer, People, and Investor goals are balanced and met.
Operate gasoline or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting device such as a forklift, tugger, elevating platform to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, equipment or materials in the production departments, warehouse, or storage yard.
Essential Functions of the Position:
- Safely position forks/ lifting platform under, over, or around loaded racks and transport load to designated area.
- Use knowledge of principles of operating safety rules and practices.
- Must be able to perform Scanning and proper inventory control.
- Use truck stability factors with and without a load.
- Knowledge of the capabilities of the equipment and attachments.
- Knowledge of purpose use and limitations of controls.
- Consistently perform proper pre-shift inspection every shift.
- Knowledge of Federal and State Standards and rules.
- Demonstrate knowledge of parking and shut down procedures.
- Follow good housekeeping practices.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
- Annual basic eye exams with normal results with or without corrective lens.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrate knowledge of process flow in Flow Rack system.
- Capable of being cross trained as needed in respected department.
- Knowledge of SAP Shop Floor.
- Ability to scan, label, reconcile.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
- Constant Finger/ wrist movement (67-100%)
- Tasks – Holds steering wheel & operating forklift controls
- Frequent sitting (34-66%)
- Occasional standing, walking, stooping, reaching overhead, reaching forward, reaching below waist, handling, both hands required, both legs required (1-33%)
- Tasks – Stoops to remove labels from racks, reaches forward and overhead to label racks, uses both hands – required to have one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on the forklift controls, uses both legs when getting on and off the forklift and when walking between racks for labeling.
- Seldom balancing and kneeling (1-10/Shift)
- Tasks – Kneels to inspect forklift
- Physically fit and able to repetitively lift 25 – 40 pounds
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 6 months of related experience and/or training.
- Valid driver’s license
- Current forklift license to be obtained within 1 week of hired.
- Documented proof of training every three years for maintenance of forklift/truck license must be maintained.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.28 - $22.00 per hour
