POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for owning the Business Partner relationship with key stakeholders such as the leadership of select marketing competencies (e.g., advertising, media, insights, ecommerce, shopper) reporting to the CMO or Head of Sales. Builds strong relationships with senior leaders in each area and acts as the key conduit for procurement in order to influence and contribute to strategy development and implementation. Understands business context and maintain connectivity to drive transformation across functions and OpCos. Influences and leverages global and local sourcing strategies and adapts for the business needs, and measures impact. Knowledgeable about local market external factors in order to help influence strategies at the global level. Collaborates on RFP & scope of work processes and drives sustainable resolutions of escalations. Actively engage in key functional strategic initiatives in order to clearly communicate sourcing constraints, supply risks & mitigation strategies as they relate to the project.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand business requirements and challenges; including priorities, must win battles and key value drivers. Transmit this understanding to the category management teams at the appropriate level so the category sourcing strategies and priorities are defined accordingly.
- Confirm business objectives, challenges, projects, requirements and expectations are shared with the Above Market and At Market Procurement Teams to influence strategic planning, policies and procedures.
- Evaluate context and stakeholder objectives and decide focus areas; align procurement resources behind the strategy.
- Partner closely with key stakeholders at the VP & Director level in order to align on key metrics of the business or function in support of the Operational Master Plan (OMP).
- Provide the business compelling category & sourcing insights & strategies.
- Seek proactive feedback regarding sourcing activities to enable transformation and impact.
- Own and measure cost & process improvement targets & projects. Communicate and report out to the business stakeholders and divisional BPs as appropriate. Monitor & periodically reassess.
- Ensure information flow between the Above Market and At Market Procurement Teams to effectively deliver and influence business/function strategies.
- Actively participate in ANA or other industry associations in order to glean relevant insights to help shape business strategies; actively build relationships with industry peers.
- Lead the implementation of transformation projects and aligned sourcing strategies at business level, within the overall implementation plan of the aligned marketing sourcing strategy.
- Build procurement strategy in support of the functional stakeholders in collaboration with procurement teams and relevant global or adjacent functions, such as Legal or Finance.
- Secure alignment of key stakeholders, including success metrics.
- Lead / conduct overall project and change management; lead and/or organize kick off & key milestone events with implementation teams and coordinate follow up activities with agencies and business participants.
- Identify local ensure-supply risks and develop sustainable mitigation strategies.
- Play an active role in Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) through the participation of key meetings, by ensuring right stakeholder engagement and through senior interactions with agencies where needed.
- Ensure performance survey is completed by market stakeholders in support of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
- Provide business updates to the SRM suppliers as required.
- Indirect or Direct supervision / coaching of Procurement Specialists, contractors, and/or interns as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree required; completed or in-progress
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years procurement, marketing/sales operations or commercial experience
- Experience in consumer or shopper marketing, sales directly or in a close supporting function such as Finance, Marketing Operations or Marketing Services, or Procurement
- Experience with sourcing technology and tools preferred
- Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
SKILLS:
- Candidate must be detail oriented and a self-starter, with demonstrated record of taking end-to-end ownership, leading through service, solving problems and learning from failures
- Strong communication skills with proven ability to analyze data and present findings in a clear and cohesive manner
- Able to view business operations through the Procurement lens and translate into value propositions to the stakeholder
- Able to successfully lead projects or initiatives in cross-functional or cross-market teams
- Effective demonstration of business acumen
- Ability to work independently to identify and research relevant market, industry/peer company, and supplier information
- Capable of navigating through ambiguous situations and managing external vendor relationships
- Ability to develop processes and/or to identify continuous improvements to help better coordinate activities
- Strong relationship building and stakeholder management skills with the ability to form and grow own networks.
