The Opportunity
This position is onsite in Alameda, CA in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives. As a Marketing Manager, Healthcare Professionals (HCP), you will be responsible for managing, planning, and implementing marketing and communications initiatives to reach endocrinologists in the areas of market development, advertising, promotions, tradeshows, digital and mobile communications. You will drive the development of product promotion plans in collaboration with global marketing and product launch teams. The Market Manager plans, creates, and produces marketing, advertising, sales promotions, and digital tools to support brand strategies and marketing objectives and acts as a brand champion, ensuring all communications are consistent and accurately support the brand strategy. You will be the conduit and hub within the US marketing organization to coordinate and support branding and marketing efforts cross-functionally to reach endocrinologists.
What You’ll Work On
- Lead the development of communication objectives, marketing strategies, and market development initiatives; and determine and manage the project budget and execution schedule with the marketing team(s) and creative agency(s).
- Manage the development of marketing and sales / promotional materials to effectively promote and sell. Recommend and execute promotion plans.
- Champion the endocrinologist, their management of diabetes, and evangelize insights. Provide channel strategy expertise to cross-functional teams and recommend most effective ways to deploy assets and materials to achieve marketing objective.
- Partner with Competitive Intel team on analysis of competitive environment. Evolve marketing strategies, product messaging, and marketing programs to address key issues of the endocrinologist customer.
- Exercise judgment independently. Plan, organize, and delegate project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiate and manage schedule for projects and project milestones. Establish priorities of individual or project assignments and hold self and team accountable for timely delivery.
- Hire, develop, and retain a diverse, highly qualified team. Provide real-time performance feedback and support ongoing growth for all direct reports. Responsible for staff's professional development and mentoring of staff's performance to meet annual goals.
- Manage vendor agreements and work deliverables to meet defined business objectives.
- Champion the Abbott brand in all materials and ensures it is aligned to the corporate brand standards.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
Required Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years’ experience in marketing ideally in a similar industry.
- Sales experience preferred.
- Also, critical for success: Excellent oral and written communication skills (including presentation and listening skills). Comfortable with clinical content both translating and promoting. High energy level and positive attitude; confidence integrity and professionalism initiative and self-motivation; strong work ethic career ambition organizational skills and attention to detail strong problem solving skills leadership and team orientation; ability to work others.
