Job Description:
The Communications Specialist w orks collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to assess communications needs, recommend communications plans & solutions, secure necessary approvals, and creates/delivers on those plans using strong writing and project management skills.
- Develops content and feedback from multiple sources for use across websites, SharePoint intranet sites, social media (LinkedIn) and other outreach platforms and knowledge management solutions
- Manages intranet site content and design strategy and execution; ensures content is performing and adjusts accordingly
- Manages administration of requests made to the Ventas Charitable Foundation
- Provides assistance and/or may lead planning, for the development and execution of internal & external events
- Reviews material to ensure they comply with relevant quality standards
- Ideates and explores creative and innovative approaches to engage and / or target internal audiences including information on corporate sustainability, diversity, equity & inclusion and philanthropy
- Maintains critical communications operations documents and processes (e.g., distribution lists, editorial calendar, photo library)
- Recommends improvements, changes, additions or deletions of communication content and the vehicles/platforms/tools/technology as necessary, and coordinate with partners to ensure content is up-to-date and relevant
- Liaises with agency partners and vendors to ensure timely execution of projects
- Identifies and operationalizes opportunities to drive process efficiencies and overall team effectiveness
- Contributes to a high-performing team by sharing best practices / lessons learned and team "wins" across communications, marketing, and business stakeholders / cohorts in support of communications excellence throughout the organization

- 2+ years of communications and/or marketing experience, ideally in a business to business setting.
- Successful track record of working and thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment that is results oriented and collaborative.
- Proven ability to effectively support and communicate with top executives, internally and externally.
- Excellent writing and research skills
- Proven project management skills
- Adept at crafting compelling copy across communications vehicles
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across a diverse, matrixed team to ensure messaging and programs are delivered quickly, consistently and powerfully across multiple channels and locations
- Ability and flexibility in managing multiple projects at a time as well as just-in-time issues to drive the work forward
- Proven ability to maintain confidential information appropriately and exercise good judgment when communicating
