Flatiron Books is seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic person to join our team as a marketing coordinator. This position will work closely on marketing campaigns, provide administrative support, aid in the creation of content and materials and communicate across departments, authors, and agents. The ideal candidate must possess strong project and time management skills, attention to detail, and creativity.
What you'll do:
- Assist in planning and execution of marketing plans for titles, series, and authors
- Report on marketing campaign performance, including understanding and analyzing data, to improve overall performance and drive sales
- Lead marketing efforts on select paperback, hardcover, and backlist titles
- Social media promotion, including writing social media copy, content calendar, and taking lifestyle photos and creation of videos (with an eye toward growth on TikTok)
- Maintain influencer mailing lists and execute on swag mailings
- Manage eBook promotion calendar and submit quarterly nominations
- Book seasonal advertising campaigns with media partners such as BookRiot and Shelf Awareness
- Upload sales materials to Edelweiss and provide internally for sales and rights departments; provide sales images and videos to retail partners including Amazon, Target, BN
- Update internal marketing shells, project grids, and track galley inventory
- Manage monthly genre newsletter submissions, including writing copy and providing links
- Help train and work with seasonal department interns
- Support Marketing VP and Assistant Director as needed

- Presentation, database, and spreadsheet skills
- Comfortable with learning new technologies
Ideal Experience/Education:
- 1-2 years of prior book publishing or marketing experience
- Experience with social media, including audiences on and creating content for social media, including videos
- Associate Degree or higher
