Job Description

The Goddess & Grocer is looking for a dynamic Marketing & Brand Strategy Manager. This is an exciting opportunity if you enjoy a fast paced environment, think collaboratively, are detail oriented and have a genuine passion for brand management and marketing initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

The Marketing Planning & Strategy Manager will be responsible for leading the development and execution of the branding strategies, marketing objectives, the promotional calendar and priority targets to increase brand relevance, drive profitable sales, increase visitation, and create continued interest/excitement for the brand.

The successful candidate should have strong experience in brand management and consumer marketing, as well as an analytical mindset. This individual will collaborate cross-functionally to develop and execute programs and promotions with excellence. Bold, forward-thinking leader who can work with the owner and senior management team to drive revenue.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops and implements marketing and advertising strategies based on promotion, brand, and menu objectives.
  • Develops the marketing calendar; develop and oversee short and long-term calendar planning strategies.
  • Collaborating with agency teams and clients, the strategist is forward-thinking and considers the big picture and minute details and how they all coalesce to build brand image and perception.
  • Researches new audiences and media channels, bringing creativity and innovation to marketing plans. Translates marketing plans for all programs into media schedule including, but not limited to, digital, print, broadcast, outdoor, sponsorship, events, email and direct mail
  • Monitors the competitive landscape and stays current with marketing trends, testing new approaches and adopting best-practice strategies
  • Creates consistent branding collateral and signage throughout the stores and on online platforms.
  • Graphic design and website design/development work and continual upkeep.
  • Reviews campaign performance analytics (lead source, web traffic, campaign reports, et. al.) and tweaks online campaigns and email communications based on analytics
  • Continually evaluates channels and lists to ensure reach of defined audience; ensures marketing investment is producing satisfactory return
  • Prepares and distributes various monthly marketing campaign updates.
  • Champion and communicate brand messages and strategy to the store management, catering and commissary management.
  • Various ad hoc projects as requested.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, demonstrating strong business and financial acumen required.
  • 5+ years of marketing, analytics, or financial experience in either restaurant or retail.
  • Experience working at a national, multi-unit brand restaurant preferred.
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional peers in a positive way to bring to life the biggest and most transformative business ideas.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills. Ability to lead and manage multiple priorities in parallel.
  • Strong communication skills to share strategies at the executive level.
  • Solid writing and editing skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and accuracy of work.
  • Expertise using Microsoft Excel for analysis, modeling, pivot tables, business analytics a plus. Ability to evaluate media outlets.
  • Demonstrated capacity for developing and executing marketing plans
  • Experience with digital media, social media, SEO and paid search to build brand awareness and recognition
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills with Microsoft Excel, Google Suite.
