Position Summary
The Market Host is the main customer service position for the Back of House. The Market Host allows the server to focus on table service by explaining to new and return guests how to build one's own stir fry. The Market Host is responsible for warmly welcoming diners into our kitchen and working with the guest on making a perfect bowl the first time around. This position will answer any questions the customer might have. The Market Host stocks the line and rotates food to ensure customers can choose the freshest meats and vegetables at all times. Further, the Market Host maintains a clean and attractive line at all times. The main focus of this position is to maintain constant contact with the guests and assist in the preparation of the customers' food.
Essential Functions:
- Answers questions for first-time and return guests
- Warmly greets guests as they enter the line
- Knowledgeable about our concept and the products we offer
- Cleans and sanitizes the line to ensure a good experience for diners
- Restocks the line for guests
- Assists in portioning, performs all assigned sidework and signs checklists
- Practices food safety at all times
- Checks temperature of products
Qualifications:
- Requires customer service skills, 1 year preferred
- Basic English Language Skills (Written & Verbal)
- Professional, Warm Demeanor - Service Oriented
- Basic food/beverage knowledge helpful
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, manage time and work well under pressure
- High School Diploma (or equivalent education/experience)
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift (up to 40 lbs), pull, bend and carry trays continuously throughout a shift
- Requires good communication skills, can converse comfortably with guests
- Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents
- Work experience in high volume or fast casual dining restaurant environment preferred
- Frequently immerses hands in water and water diluted with chemical solutions
