Manufacturing Supervisor - 2ND SHIFT

The Manufacturing Supervisor oversees and directs the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new or existing products and technologies. Develops and recommends manufacturing policies, procedures and programs. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Works closely with quality groups to ensure strict compliance with good manufacturing practices guidelines at all times. Prepares documentation, reports and standard operating procedures as required. Ensures the effective use of materials, equipment and employees in producing quality products.
Responsibilities:
- Will perform some or all of the following:
- Perform work order variance analysis and follow up as needed with investigation/correction
- Perform transactions and generate reports out of ERP system, as needed, and evaluate report data to identify areas for improving efficiency and reviewing existing processes for potential improvements
- Train subordinates on specific tasks related to job processes; may supervise performance of training done by others
- Participate on product development transfer teams; support or initiate process improvement projects and may assist in validations
- Maintain up-to-date employee training and certification records
- Support department, as needed, in miscellaneous duties such as filing, copying, binding, scanning, ordering supplies, Kanban management, etc.
- Lead the resolution of non-conformances (NC), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and customer complaints
- Author document revisions and processes through change control process
- Troubleshoot processing problems
- Support cycle count program by performing count reconciliation
- Supervise seasonal temporary workforce
- Demonstrate commitment to the development, implementation and effectiveness of Sekisui Diagnostics’ Quality Management System per ISO, FDA, and other regulatory agencies
- Understand and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job
- Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company’s policies and practices
- Carry out duties in compliance with established business policies
- Additional duties, as assigned
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree and 1-2 years supervising in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
- A combination of education and years of experience acceptable
- Must be able to work independently
- Strong computer skills required: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and inventory management systems
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have strong leadership and team building skills; will interact with many different functions and levels within the organization
- Understands manufacturing operations and impact on overall goals
- Ability to identify and provide corrections for deviations from normal processes
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement program preferred
- Understanding of QSR / ISO concepts; knowledge of total quality systems such as 21CFR (QSR) or ISO 14385 regulations preferred
