Group/Division

KLA has manufacturing sites across the globe, including Belgium, China, Germany, Israel, Singapore and Milpitas (CA). The Global Operations (GOPS) team, comprised of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Installation, and Quality, is responsible for manufacturing our leading-edge technology. We partner with our world-wide supply base and our design engineering teams to bring new products to market. The GOPS team is continuously working to build our products Better, Faster, Cheaper.

Responsibilities

Cleanliness MDE group will be responsible to ensure the cleanliness of optics, opto-mechanical parts, lasers and other critical modules for the production of KLA tools. The manager will lead cleanliness projects within US Operations, while working closely with engineering, contamination and damage control (CDC) specialists, MDE, materials and supply chain team. Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, providing leadership, strategy, and solutions to prevent and address cleanliness issues across production and development teams. Work within diverse teams and communicate with peers, interdisciplinary engineering groups, customers, and suppliers. Ability to optimally connect with a broad range of individuals and teams globally to proactively develop positive relationships. “Cleanliness” pertains to the science and processes that minimize or even eliminate source-induced damage (SID) by DUV or EUV. SID includes photo-contamination (P-C), electron driven contamination growth, and material damage from DUV or electron bombardment. Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, providing leadership, strategy, and solutions to prevent and address cleanliness issues across production and development teams. Work within diverse teams and communicate with peers, interdisciplinary engineering groups, customers, and suppliers. Ability to optimally connect with a broad range of individuals and teams globally to proactively develop positive relationships. “Cleanliness” pertains to the science and processes that minimize or even eliminate source-induced damage (SID) by DUV or EUV.   • Maintain, optimize, and sustain manufacturing cleaning equipment, cleanliness protocols, cleaning procedures and relevant processes.
  • Lead GCMS Operations in material outgassing, thermal desorption, GC-MS, and related analytical instrumentation techniques.
  • Support engineering and CTO Photo-Physics group on the cleanliness requirements and development of cleaning technology, and related test methods including RGA, mass spectrometer, and surface sensitive analytical techniques for ultra-high vacuum chambers, e-beam, and other sub-systems.
  • Collaborate with MDE parts owners and MFG teams to resolve cleanliness issues.
  • Train technical manufacturing staff on cleanliness control, analytical procedures and calibration.
  • Orchestrate cleanliness solutions to resolve supplier’s quality related issues.
  • Provide direct supervision to exempt and nonexempt employees.
  • Receive assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.

Qualifications and Education

  • A BS or advanced degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field is required.
  • Knowledgeable of cleaning processes in manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge in chemistry, analytical chemistry laboratory practices and surface science is required. Multi-disciplinary knowledge of GC/MS, RGA, mass spectroscopy, from carbon chemistry and light-matter interactions.
  • Experience in scanning electron microscope (SEM), optical microscope, and related analytical techniques is desired.
  • Experience leading small teams. Great teammate with good writing and verbal communication.
  • Excel working in a multi-discipline and multi-culture global organization
  • Able to read technical drawings and understand BOMs.
  • Has very good problem-solving ability through design of experiments and carry out tests to collect and analyze data. Able to apply the 7-Step or 8D problem solving method consistently. Committed to challenge existing processes for continuous improvement.
  • Able to travel for training, supplier’s visit, project support and support of customers globally (up to 20%).

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate (Academic) or work experience of 0 years , Master's Level Degree or work experience of 1 years , Bachelor's Level Degree or work experience of 2 years
