Job Summary
The Manager, Warehouse Operations is responsible for overseeing all warehousing personnel and functions; ensure inventory accuracy and shipment on-time performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Pre-shipment inspection for accuracy and conformance
- Lead all shipping, picking and packing functions along with warehouse systems transactions – goods movements;
- Directly supervise distribution center employees;
- Monitor and account for team member attendance/performance;
- Manage warehouse transactions and inventory control activities ensuring all shipments are prepared for posting;
- Responsible for cross-training all shipping associates in picking, packing, posting and other tasked as necessary
- Responsible for material movement and goods and maintenance of inventory control records;
- Reconcile material discrepancies and coordinate paperwork;
- Ensure that systems are in working order, enlist IT and facilities where necessary to correct problems;
- Responsible for verifying quantities of incoming or outgoing goods against purchase/sales order/packing lists;
- Ensure accurate addressing and preparation of bills of lading and for packing goods to be shipped;
- Shipping, Warehousing and Distribution function for raw materials, in-process goods and released finished products;
- Ensure good housekeeping in warehouse, organized work flow, and staff scheduling
- Ability to read, understands, and follows company quality policy;
- Direct, plan, delegate and manage department budget and staff including:
- Hire, promote, demote, reclassify or terminate employees
- Write and conduct performance appraisals and disciplinary actions plans
- Make salary decisions (pay increases or new hire offers)
- Create training and employee development plans
- Handle all departmental employee relations issues
- May oversee the inventory control group and process;
- Manage against objectives such as fulfillment rate, on-time shipments, and order accuracy
- Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and work at heights up to 20 feet;
- Perform special projects as requested;
Minimum Qualifications
Ten years related warehousing experience;
Ability to effectively lead and motivate team members;
Ability to delegate tasks;
General mathematical skills;
Ability to follow oral and written communication;
Prior experience in manufacturing facility;
Experience in control of documents and material tracking;
Must have strong PC background, along with good organizational and communication skills;
Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and work at heights up to 20 feet;
Prior experience in ISO 13485 certified environment to show competence and demonstrate understanding on the basis of appropriate education, training, skills, background, or experience in ISO 13485.
Education
High School diploma or GED is required. Associates degree is preferred.
Physical requirements/Work EnvironmentThis position primarily works in a warehousing environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs. and work at heights up to 20 feet. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
