The role:
The Herbalife Nutrition, Manager of Sports Science will be responsible for the day to day operations of a Human Performance Lab as well as the implementation of clinical studies. This individual will be responsible for leading the entire life cycle of a clinical study from research design, power analysis, Institution Review Board (IRB) approval, statistical analysis and write-up. The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities, and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
How you would contribute:
- Daily management and operations of a Human Performance Lab: including but not limited to metabolic cart, BodPod. BIA, Biodex, 3D motion capture technology, force plates, surface EMG and others.
- Run and coordinate Human Clinical Studies.
- Collect and analyze data.
- Coordinate with Universities and Private Companies on the development of study protocols and obtain proper approvals and contracts, including but not limited to IRB approval.
- Coordinate with trainers, PT, dietitians and biomechanics experts on the development of study protocols.
- Provide experienced sport science opinions to appropriate medical and mentor staff as needed.
- Coordinate appropriate usage of Herbalife product.
- Participate in Herbalife events as well as external industry events as needed.
- Periodic travel to off-site filming and events, and other Herbalife locations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills:
- Excellent communication, presentation, and counseling skills
- Ability to accurately assess all anthropometric measures
- Accurately assess body composition (body mass, body fat, and muscle mass)
- Accurately assess and evaluate energy balance
- Possess knowledge of biomechanics and human movement
- Possess knowledge in pathophysiology with respect to human kinetics of injury
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Excellent time management, organizational, and record-keeping skills
- Competence with nutrient analysis, word processing, and presentation software
- Compliance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Knowledge of rules and regulations of athletic governing bodies: e.g., National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), regarding banned drugs and restricted substances
- Knowledge of measurements of resting metabolic rate, energy expenditure, VO2max, and lactate threshold.
- Ability to communicate information & excite enthusiasm/instill credibility about our products & health with the athletes.
- Strong customer and results orientation
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work efficient as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work weekends and after hours on occasion.
- 7 years of proven experience in running an exercise physiology lab and developing, conducting, and evaluating human performance studies.
- At least 5 years working with professional teams and athletes.
- Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or related field
