The Card Authorization team is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join their team! The Engineering Manager is responsible for providing direct leadership to growing development team. The Engineering Manager is accountable for team performance and results, including end to end ownership of project execution, software quality and performance in production environment. Associates in this role must have a deep understanding of a software engineering domain. The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the team, including providing technical direction and guidance for the developers on the team. Overall, the Engineering Manger is accountable for the quality of software developed to meet specified business needs.

Job Requirements

  • Responsible for the technical integrity of our team's delivery
  • Create technical vision and strategy that aligns with JPMC Card Authorizations business objectives
  • Align on strategic vision and scaling related challenges through short and long-term planning
  • Oversee small to mid-size projects and cross-functional team dependencies
  • Partner with architects on design, architecture and implementation for team's deliverables
  • Partner with scrum master to lead team in breaking down complex features/stories into well understood and achievable tasks
  • Be an active developer and contributor to the team's delivery. Take the lead on solving and implementing difficult technology challenges and drive our team to successful delivery
  • Cultivate and promote agile engineering practices including pair programming, continuous integrations, automation and test-driven development
  • Strengthen the presence of our team as Technical center of excellence. Actively work with other leads to align to a consistent technology vision and keep the rest of the organization aware of our activities
  • Mentor team members to progress their technical and professional skills

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • At least 7-10 years of professional software development work experience
  • At least 5 years of experience people management and performance improvement through feedback, coaching and performance reviews
  • At least 5-7 years of hands-on software developer preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in Agile/Scrum software development methodologies
  • At least 1 years of experience hosting daily scrums as a scrum master
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages Core Java, Spring frameworks, REST API, Cloud, Micro services, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Cassandra DB and other web technologies.

  • Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed and allowed by local regulations
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, Wilmington, DE area
