About the role

IT Security is building a new Program Delivery Office (PDO) that will own and manage the UK and US security project portfolio to ensure the delivery of our strategy, enabling the protection of National Grid’s digital systems and operational sites from cyber and physical threats.


The IT Security Program Delivery Office will:

  • Ensure that Security are meeting their internal & external delivery commitments
  • Ensure that Security are meeting their outcomes
  • Ensure that all requisite reporting is completed against time, cost and quality metrics
  • Ensure that all risks and issues are highlighted and mitigated
  • Provide visibility of a unified security portfolio
  • Ensure and drive best practice project and program management standards across the portfolio
  • Drive cross delivery tower process optimisation to reduce waste


The IT Security PDO Program Manager will lead this team who will work primarily with our Engineering & Product function to ensure that Security are meeting their internal & external delivery commitments and outcomes, that all requisite reporting is completed against time, cost and quality metrics and all risks and issues are highlighted and mitigated. By combining two regional teams into a single global function we aim to bring a consistent and standardised, efficient approach to programme delivery.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manages and influences key stakeholders to achieve the programs objectives and that the business benefits are tracked and realised.
  • Where necessary manages dependencies, risks, plans and costs at a delivery level to ensure effective management and decision making.
  • Drives implementation of standardised tools, methodologies, and processes across the portfolio to enforce best practices, improve compliance, and facilitate consistent reporting.
  • Manages the production of comprehensive documentation and reporting suites that contain accurate status updates for all inflight and upcoming programs and provide BISOs, regulators and other business leaders access as necessary.
  • Guides transformation efforts by coordinating the roadmap of change across security teams, including Risk Management, Business Partnering, Product, Engineering and Delivery teams.
  • Supports the BISO by managing and chairing required governance forums to ensure that effective decision making takes place.
About you

To be successful you will possess:

  • Advanced knowledge of current PM industry standards including agile preferably with a Program Management qualfication
  • Extensive experience managing multiple programs, on large-scale, (multi-national or cross-functional programs for a variety of clients)
  • Strong leadership skills with respect to prioritisation, organisation, teambuilding, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven track record of leading and managing Project Management staff in a large, complex, global organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in agile, ambiguous situations and create structure to drive results
  • Demonstrated success to influence, persuade, and engage, whilst working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders, including the ability to establish rapport at a variety of levels
  • SAFe certified a plus.

Salary

$133,000 - $188,000 a year

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
