Job Description
Recruit, retain, and develop product development engineering
Plan competency needs of new product development group and deploy to team based on roles and curriculum
Mentor, coach and manage associates regular and annual performance reviews according to company general and project targets
Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional leadership.
Regularly meets with customer channels for product improvements and channel to roadmap projects
Works with members of the management team to further department and company goals.
Manage team's time and prioritize tasks on a daily basis according to project and departmental goals, milestones and budgets
Assign team members for projects and cross functional team work on sustainability of electrical topics
Distribute and follow up of execution of daily tasks
FMEA coordination
Approval of changes for sustainability topics for electrical knowledge needed
Coach and mentor project teams and do/review maturity assessment of engineering processes such Requirement Engineering, FMEA, development reports, test planning
Review and approve purchasing orders in accordance with signature limits
Provide oversight for electrical engineering development for all new and current devices.
Develop and direct the design and development of new products and the improvement of existing products.
Works on collaborative project teams in conjunction with project engineers and project managers.
May serve as a senior technical member of one to several project teams concurrently.
Provides technical guidance as a mentor to less experienced electrical engineers.
Provides electrical and system engineering guidance to mechanical engineers and designers.
Qualifications
Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 5-10 years related experience in design of components for electrical or electro-mechanical devices
Experience in managing small teams
Experience in design, controls and or project management is preferred.
Knowledge in the following areas is a plus: Refrigeration, VFD Application and Inverter, Class2 low voltage controls, control panel design, National Electric code, schematics and electrical diagram design, wire harness design, overload and short circuit design selection, electrical grounding and bonding, fan motor and airflow application, Hermetic compressor and pump motor applications, resistive electric heating design and application
