Manager Of Carrier Operations

As Manager of Carrier Operations, you will have the opportunity to lead the newest office under the Stevens Transport TL group, a major player in the 3PL space. This role will lead a team of Brokerage Representatives responsible for developing a carrier network that fulfills capacity needs and network growth initiatives. • Collaborating with our Sales Executives and Operations teams on service and freight priorities
• Managing carrier network by cornering new and existing partners with available capacity
• Selling and negotiating rates with drivers for the best return on gross profit per load
• Monitoring shipment status, reply to e-mails, process updates and act as point of contact for carrier and customer
• Documenting daily check calls in AS/400
• Communicating changes in load status to applicable parties
• Holding regular meetings to address department performance

Manager of Carrier Operations Qualifications:

• 5+ years of freight forwarding/sales experience. Working knowledge of refrigerated transportation is ideal
• Highly organized and communicative – must be able to interact effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
• Ability to perform in an environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlines
• Timely follow-through
• Ability to handle high volumes of inbound email
• Solid computer skills with above average typing speed and accuracy
