  • HS or GED
  • Five (5) years of credentialing experience.
  • Experience with effective conflict resolution.

Job Summary:

The Medical Staff Services Manager works under indirect supervision of the SWR Director of Medical Staff Services/Physician Quality and is responsible for managing the overall day to day oversight of the department and all its functions. The Manager is also responsible for the supervision of the Medical Staff Services associates (if any). Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Reports any issues to SWR Medical Staff Services (MSS)/Quality Director.
  • Assists, ensures and supervises the MSS associates (if any) credentialing of all Medical Staff and Allied Health Professionals is done accurately, efficiently and timely.
  • Ensures access to the EMR is obtained and maintained for the practitioners and office staff.
  • Ensures The Joint Commission requirements are met regarding Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE).
  • Prepares the Emergency Department master call schedule and notifies appropriate departments of changes.
  • Proficient in utilization of the Medical Staff database and producing reports as needed.
  • Ensures all duties of this department are completed and carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provides administrative help for medical staff related committees and functions.
  • Provides the necessary resources to Medical Staff leaders to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities.
  • Maintains working knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge and compliance with The Joint Commission standards.
  • Assists in collecting Medical Staff data in order to perform credentialing, reappointment and privileging duties.
  • Orients and trains new personnel and/or existing personnel regarding any new tasks/assignments as indicated.
  • Ensures associates are cross trained in all responsibilities in the MSS department.
  • Develops and maintains a good working rapport with members of the Medical Staff, Allied Health Professionals and hospital personnel.
  • Maintains a professional and courteous manner on all interactions with customers both internal and external.
  • Adheres to strict confidentiality requirements.
  • Assists in determining budget requirements for the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.
