We are seeking candidates who are willing to relocate to any Cabinets To Go showroom within a particular region, be flexible and willing to travel.

SUMMARY:

The manager in training program is a comprehensive hands-on training program that teaches individuals management, sales, and operational skills. Participants will function as an Assistant Manager in one of CTG’s retail stores located nationwide. This program is designed to provide training in all aspects of the business to include, order management, human resource management, inventory control, reporting, store maintenance, and other duties as deemed necessary. This position provides the initiative to be the sales leader in the store, working with staff to accomplish both individual and store goals. Trainees are expected to gain the skill set necessary for them to assume a Store Manager role within 6 months of beginning the program.

During the training period, trainees may be deployed to other stores to assist with store openings, fill in for managers on leave, or assist in stores that are shorthanded. As the goal of the training program is to provide trainees with a strong understanding of all aspects of the retail operations, trainees will also be required to spend time working in a HUB warehouse environment.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Comprehensive training will include duties in several departments such as Warehouse Operations, Sales, Customer Service and more
  • While in store, trainee will act as the Assistant Store Manager and will work with Store Manager on all aspects of running a Cabinets To Go store
  • Driving sales, customer service, and inventory control
  • Providing coaching and training for sales associates
  • Maintaining a neat, clean, and inviting showroom and warehouse
  • Selling kitchen cabinets, bath vanities, counter tops, flooring products, and installation services
  • Performing product demonstrations
  • Designing kitchen layouts using computer-aided drafting software (20/20)
  • Assist in loading or offloading of product (will vary from store to store)
  • Trainee will be required to travel for Manger Training once a month to other stores, corporate office, HUB, distribution center, or other training site

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Currently employed as a CTG sales associate, with no written warnings or disciplinary actions within the past 18 months, and have the recommendation of both your current store manager and regional manager; or
  • If not currently employed, have a degree in management, design, or similar field, or at least 5 years of relevant sales, management, and/or design experience

GENERIC SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Regular attendance and punctuality are required as a full-time employee in order to perform all the essential functions.

  • Willingness to contribute hours needed when working within tight deadlines in high pressure situations
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Must be a self-starter and have strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience using design software, such as 20/20 or CAD, preferred but not required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with retail Point of Sales (POS) systems preferred
  • Experience in some type of home remodeling product sales is helpful, but not required
  • Must be able to work normal store operating hours, with the occasional night to close out the month, work special sales, or to receive inventory

To qualify for the program, you must be willing to relocate within the region in which you are assigned for training. There is no guarantee that you will receive a store manager position. Promotion is subject to performance and position availability. While location preference will be considered, the Company cannot guarantee a store manager position in a location of your choosing. If a store manager position is offered in your region, and you elect not to accept it, the Company reserves the right to terminate your position. Trainees may also be considered for relocation to openings available in alternative regions. The Company is instituting a relocation expense package to assist you in your relocation. Upon relocation, you will be expected to reside within no more than a 45-minute commute of the store.

One trainee per region will be chosen. While efforts will be made to assign trainees to stores near their current place of residence, this may not be possible. Trainee’s will be responsible for all living arrangements and expenses, except when temporarily deployed to a location other than that to which they are assigned.

As with all positions, there is no guarantee of continued employment. Trainee performance will be evaluated on a quarterly basis.
