Title: Manager II Control Tower
Location:
Our Supply Chain Control Tower Team is responsible for the continuous improvement of day to day stability and operational execution through the following activities:
- Provide daily visibility to the inbound and outbound projected, planned and actual volumes throughout our distribution network
- Connect leaders from DC Ops, Replenishment, Forecasting, and Logistics, through a regular cadence of stand ups
- Manage the Sales & Operations Planning between Supply Chain and our great local brands
- Use data to provide direction to operations (DC/Transportation/Demand/Logistics) on any potential or current challenges where action is needed.
- Manage the connectivity cadence and reporting for Supply Chain operations, inclusive of Demand Management, DC Operations, and Logistics.
- Collect, quantify, and summarize the activities of DC Ops, Replenishment, Forecasting, Logistics, Brand Category Management & Merchandising, and Brand Retail Operations that impact Supply Chain Operational Execution.
- Own the development and publishing of DC/Operation Shipping Projections.
- Facilitate inventory effectiveness conversations, for Replenishment and DC Ops, across multiple areas including Category, Retail Operations, Shelf Merchandising, Banner Merchandising, and Supply Chain Operations.
- Create new methods and procedures based on industry best practices, trends and best in class external benchmarking.
- Act as a Supply Chain leader to identify opportunities that drive out cost and improve service within the network. Provide support for the implementation of a continuous improvement culture and recommend and drive strategies and tactics to Control Tower Lead and Manager peers for continuous improvements and innovation.
- Lead and/or serve as a member of key teams and committees as needed.
- Manage and develop the Control Tower Analysts’ knowledge and understanding of S&OP concepts. Recruit, mentor, direct, motivate the Control Tower Analyst staff while maximizing their individual contributions and leveraging diverse strengths
Context
- Organizational context: Provides support and direct partnership to functional leaders within the components of Supply Chain, Operations, Demand Management and Logistics.
- Framework & guidelines: Provides and directs analysis that brings transparency and understanding to the operational health of the Supply Chain. Provides data and reccomendations in executive summaries to allow leadership to make effective decisions.
- Financial dimension: Through the successful execution of the Supply Chain Control Tower and S&OP process, efficiency will be brought that improves overall supply chain costs and improves service to the brands.
- Degree of latitude: Works on projects and analysis directed by management and determines projects and analysis based on observation of Supply Chain health and opportunities.
- Interactions and relationships: The Manager deals internally with Supply Chain Replenishment, Demand Planning Leads, Operations Regional leadership, Distribution Inventory Control leadership, Logistics and and Supply Chain functional leadership. This role manages an Analyst.
Requirements • Understanding of the common approaches and requirements for end-to end planning capabilities including demand planning / forecasting, inventory planning, supply / production planning and S&OP / integrated business planning
- Experience with planning technology solutions, technology, and/or implementation experience
- Proficiency with Data Management and Visualization applications (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, MS Power BI)
- Proficiency with communication/presentation applications (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
- Excellent analytical skills to connect facts and see trends and opportunities
- Prior experience with development of supporting analytics and metrics to assess Supply Chain performance and identify and quantify improvement opportunities
- Strong communication and presentation skills to interface with internal groups and exchange information through multiple modalities

- Masters Degree in Supply Chain or related field preferred
- Minimum of 7 years combined experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Retail, Merchandising, Category, Pricing, Procurement, or Distribution
