The legal manager will support Third Party Subpoena (TPS) Attorney and the TPS practice area that receives approximately 1,000 formal discovery requests per month. Review subpoenas when information sought is out of the ordinary, deal with controversial issues, and request sensitive information and escalate to TPS Attorney as appropriate. Draft basic objection letters, lead meet and confer discussions with external requesting party, provide written summaries of calls to TPS Attorney, and draft communications to external requesting parties. Assist with the identification and preparation of deponents. Manage vendor garnishments and UCC lien processes, collaborating with the business to determine vendor relationship issues and potential custodians.
- Manages multiple projects and initiatives related to legal processes and systems in support of team business plans by determining resource requirements; assembling project teams of cross-functional stakeholders ; gathering and analyzing legal data in order to gain insights on trends, root causes of issues, and process and project risks; collaborating with stakeholders to develop project and initiative solutions; determining performance standards and metrics; drafting and disseminating communication plans; and driving implementation of project and initiative solutions.
- Manages process improvement for the legal operations team by identifying, anticipating and understanding process gaps; researching process best practices and benchmarking industry standards; determining methods to leverage data in order to drive business improvements; identifying central intake training and resource needs and developing strategies to address them; collaborating with internal and external partners to develop and implement process changes; and determining accountability and progress measures and reporting results to senior leadership.
- Manages the execution of the legal operations team business strategies by identifying and developing key performance metrics ; tracking and reporting accuracy of metrics; analyzing and interpreting current data to identify trends and issues; collaborating in the development and implementation of strategies for sustainable and standardized best practices and processes; developing and documenting protocols, action plans, and departmental processes; and adjusting approaches in response to changing business demands.
- Manages a team that participates in legal matters for area of responsibility by overseeing the analysis, drafting, and editing of legal documents and reports; applying subject matter expertise in area of responsibility to a wide-range of legal matters to assist attorneys and guide staff to meet the needs of the team, department, and business; applies a high-level understanding of systems and databases used in order to troubleshoot and guide direct reports to meet the needs of the business; assisting with resolution of small claims matters within Legal department guidelines; managing the submission and completion process for legal matter information requests from clients, courts, and outside counsel; attending hearings, depositions, and trials as needed; and coordinating real estate closings, intellectual property prosecutions, contract renewals and legal disputes.

Preferred Qualifications:
Juris Doctorate, Legal background and knowledge of the EDRM (Electronic Discovery Reference Model)
