Job Description

This position assists in the planning, budgeting, analysis, accounting, and project controls for MTA’s major commercial public/private partnerships & promotions as required (these public/private partnerships are the basis for critical customer-facing services, such as travel information and Wi-Fi, in addition to generating significant revenue for the MTA). This position reports to Assistant Director, Performance and Financial Analysis.


Responsibilities

Utilize policies, standards, and procedures to monitor KPIs and project financials.

Assist in ensuring the accuracy of private partner reporting, adherence to the financial provisions within contracts, and performance of the partnerships regarding expenses, revenue, and operational KPIs.

Identify & convey financial and operational issues/concerns and develop timely/appropriate intervention strategies.

Review and manage payouts to promotional partners.

Assist in reviewing & managing the analysis and the reconciliation of agency/concessionaire expenses and revenues.

Provide support in managing and ensuring the integrity of all financials and performance.

Prepare reports to meet MTA Board and senior management requirements, highlighting variances and areas of concern.

Lead various ad hoc budget/contract/RFP reviews and analyses.

Create project revenue and expenditure forecasts for MTA Financial Plan submissions.

Manage the annual budget for the Deputy Chief Development Office/Planning department.

Contribute to various invoice/expense reviews and funding discussions.


Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field.

Minimum five (5) years of related experience.

Experience in construction or project management incomparable environment is a plus.

Strong knowledge of financial management concepts and techniques.

Must have strong analytical skills and knowledge of financial planning, analysis, forecasting, and control techniques.

Must have knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Must have a strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Product Suite.

Proven ability to develop complex and sophisticated analysis & multi-year financial plans.

Excellent oral and written communications skills.


Other Information

As an MTA Construction & Development employee, you may be required to complete the New York State financial disclosure statement – annually if your position earns $101,379 (this figure is subject to change) per year if the position is designated as a policymaker.
