Job Description
The Embedded Systems Manager is responsible for the embedded systems development effort for BXB Digital. It is an engineering leadership role that requires working closely with the embedded engineers and provide guidance for the low power tracking solution. In this role you will provide vision and leadership for the next generation of low power tracking solution. This candidate should stay abreast with advances in hardware and system technologies and work closely in planning and implementation of pallet tracking device rollout. Work closely with Business operations, and facility. Program management and cross-functional leadership. Manage external consultants, network operators, and manufacturing partners.

Major/Key Accountabilities
Responsible for defining and verifying end-to-end system requirements and developing hardware including integration with the cloud platforms.
Provide technical and strategic leadership that quickly transitions innovative concepts and ideas towards commercial realization.
Implement processes that improve early vetting of concepts towards increasing the predictability of the product development pipeline.
Work closely with consultants, vendors and contract manufacturers for timely delivery
Align resources and perform critical review of technical data produced by group ensuring consistent execution against R&D program/project goals and objectives.
Build and foster subject matter expertise within the organization in key areas of, advanced sensors and connectivity technologies.
Develop and track detailed specifications, project plans, resource assignments & schedules in conjunction with Engineering, Product Management, and Executive staff.
Develop tracking and sensor telemetry applications for real-time Low Power Wide Area Networks (LPWAN) and Cellular IoT networks.
Participate in technical reviews for design and implementation for deployment and support processes.
Measures
Timely delivery of the hardware edge devices and integration on the cloud platform
Vendor, supplier and engineering management
Troubleshoot technical issues during bring up, production and operations
Manage project schedules and workflow with software engineering team.
Key contacts
Platform Engineering team, project managers, developers, strategy and architecture teams, infrastructure, design teams, etc. This will include Directors, VP’s, CIO, manager, and employees
External user groups, software vendors, contactors and their firms, other companies using our tools and possibly customers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering Science with related experience in hardware development.
Experience
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 7+ years of related experience in embedded systems
Background in Systems Programming, Operating Systems, RTOS, M2M IoT Protocols – MQTT, CoAP
Driver level understanding of Wi-Fi, BLE, and Cellular modules is a plus
Skills and Knowledge
Thorough, in-depth knowledge of MCU based controller design
Knowledge of communication protocols: TCP/IP; UDP, I2C, SPI, UART, I2S, PCM.
Experience with sensors, accelerometers, gyro, GPS, temperature
Understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, LTE-M1, NB-IoT, is a plus
Proven track record in managing engineering teams and external contractors

Bachelors - Computer Engineering, Bachelors - Electrical Engineering
Preferred Level of Work Experience
5 - 7 years
