Leads a team of engineers and technicians in the design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of ESO
radio-frequency (RF) equipment, components, and systems used in large-scale satellite downlink and uplink
operations. Provides management on-call availability. Previous experience in a supervisory role required. In
addition, this position is at a satellite communications systems expert and provides the foundation to build continuity
within the department. Performs management, leadership, and supervisory responsibilities to include training,
documentation, reports, schedules, mentoring, and performance reporting.

Qualifications:
15+ years of satellite earth station related experience.
3+ years of management experience
Bachelor’s degree in an electronics discipline from an applicable curriculum (Master’s degree preferred).
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Working Conditions:
This position requires shift work in/near a normal office environment. Work is also conducted outdoors in all weather
conditions sometimes at heights reaching up to 50 ft. In addition, this position also requires working around high
voltage and RF radiation.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, climb ladders, lift up to 100
lbs. with assistance, use hands and fingers to handle, feel, reach (with hands and arms), balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, distinguish colors, talk, and hear.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure continuous customer support to all EchoStar, Dish Network and other internal and external customers
- Manage the coordination of activities and provides guidance to subordinates within company policies.
- Receives assignments as objectives and determine how to utilize resources to meet schedules and goals.
- Oversees and approves changes to departmental procedures and policies. Provides inputs to the department
- Coordinates the acquisition of replacement or new RF equipment assemblies using various purchase order
- Extensively involved in department recruiting, interviewing, and retention.
- Provide direct supervision to subordinates via general direction and may get directly involved on escalated
- Experienced at reviewing and revising established policies and procedures.
- Ability to train engineers and technicians through classroom direction and hands practice.
- Serves as a mentor to new employees and other peers. Direct reports can be either salaried individual
- Understands cross-functional projects and able to collaborate with various departments.
- Guides engineers and technicians on personnel development.
- Possess the knowledge and skills of a high level earth station operations engineer.
- Acts as a technical advisor to ESO engineers and technicians as well as other departments.
- Applies project management skills to effectively manage/lead department projects.
- Interfaces with senior management to provide project status reports.
- Plans and directs the maintenance and modification activities of ESO systems.
- Performs shipping, receiving, security, and escort duties as required.
- Propose, design, establish, participate in and leads continuous improvement initiatives to increase effectiveness
- Possesses an advanced level of computer software skills with business software to include, but not limited to word
- Familiar with basic network computer configurations (e.g. IP addresses, subnet masks, default gateways, etc.).
- Ability to apply/perform mathematical concepts including algebra, logarithmic functions, and trigonometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical documentation, procedures, and drawings.
- Ability to compose and present written reports and proposals to senior management.
