Job Description:
Job Duties:- Analyze, design, and deliver business systems software solutions based on functional and technical requirements in collaboration with PayPal’s End-User Finance Community.
- Design and build scalable systems software, lead functional and technical discussions to determine new features for those systems, and participate in coding and business process reviews.
- Drive business requirements identification processes and ensure technical solutions meet the need of business operations, while maintaining a “customer-first” focus.
- Train team members in the business analysis processes, data provisioning, data modeling, software reporting capabilities, and how to utilize datasets to produce business recommendations.
- Collaborate with Data Technology teams to produce business data requirements and deliver accurate and timely data in an insight-driven format.
- Write and test quality code to deliver desired business results.
- Provide functional and technical leadership and contribute to the definition, development, integration, testing, documentation, and technical support across multiple electronic platforms (Oracle, Hadoop, SAP, Teradata).
- Balance technical production platform needs, fast feature delivery, and retirement of technical debt across a broad landscape of software and technologies.
- Establish a productive and collaborative team environment to ensure there is a consistent customer-centric focus in all team functions.
- Utilize knowledge and experience with: Oracle; Hadoop; SAP; Teradata; data analytics; data provisioning; data modeling and coding.
Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline plus twelve (12) years of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience in the field of software engineering or program analysis or Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or closely related quantitative discipline plus eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or fourteen (14) years of progressively responsible experience in the field of software engineering or program analysis.
Skills & Abilities required:- Good team player that can collaborate with both internal and external teams
- Good understanding about data processing and data warehousing concepts
- Master SQL language on top of RDBMS (Oracle/MySql)/ HiveQL/ SparkSQL/ Big Query
- Understanding of Apache Spark/Hadoop ecosystem and the Data Analytics ecosystem
- Strong conceptual and creative problem-solving skills Ability to work with considerable ambiguity
- Ability to learn new and complex concepts quickly Relentlessly resourceful and scrappy
- A great communicator with strong project management skills
- Must be results focused and highly energetic to drive defined team and organizational goals
