Job Summary

This an exciting opportunity to work with different procurement and IT teams to assess, manage, and deploy various Ariba solutions for various sourcing, procurement and requesting departments in Otsuka. This will be a dynamic role involving detail business requirements assessment, collaborating with IT Teams and external partners, help developing roadmaps, establishing best practices, and assessing new technologies.

Job Description

Business Analyst, Ariba role involves core responsibilities of understanding and translating business problems/value propositions into business requirements, ensuring that appropriate solution is developed for given business requirements and working with testing teams to perform unit testing and end to end testing of developed solutions. This role also involves working on proof of concepts, discussing Ariba best practices and working on Ariba support requests.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Business Analysis : Lead the requirement gathering effort, analyze business needs, develop business cases for larger initiatives; evaluate and qualify opportunities. Identify opportunities for business process and technology improvements.
  • Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a SME for assigned area, understand business needs, maintain awareness of industry trends, and provide recommendations to facilitate decision making.
  • Financial Management: Participate in the effort estimation of the solution for the given business requirements
  • Vendor Management: Participate in vendors evaluation, selection, and management for assigned projects, working within the IT organization. Work with SAP Ariba for support and service requests
  • Service Management: Provide oversight for the day-to-day operations of assigned area working with the support partners. Align with relevant IT teams to apply necessary incident and change management best practices and tools. Measure KPIs and drive teams to achieve operational excellence.

Specific Job Responsibilities

  • Work with business stakeholders to discuss and capture the business requirements for Ariba application
  • Run business scenarios with business stakeholders to harmonize business requirements
  • Negotiate with business stakeholders for controlling the scope within a given project or change requests
  • Work with solution architects to discuss and validate proposed solutions
  • Test and confirm unit and integration testing of developed Ariba solution
  • Work with compliance teams to assess and qualify projects and change request for Ariba solution

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 6 years of SAP Ariba related experience is required. Desired candidate should have working experience with buying & invoicing, contracts, sourcing and SLP modules of Ariba.
  • Strong understanding of understanding business requirements with ability to derive Ariba solution constructs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Proficiency using collaboration tools, like Office 365 or similar
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • An understanding of systems development lifecycle change management methodologies
  • Strong negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Up to 10% travel is required based upon business needs.

Preferred

  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Office 365, JIRA, MS Teams or similar modern collaboration tools
  • Strong understanding of databases, integration method, APIs, and cloud hosting technologies like AWS is highly desirable
