As a Maintenance Technician with Liberty Plastics, you will be responsible for supporting the operations team on all hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC/Electrical related issues. This position requires a high level of responsibility towards keeping the automated industrial control systems operational, providing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. Performance of all jobs must be conducted safely, efficiently and accurately.
This full-time position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and is located at the Liberty Plastics manufacturing plant in Baldwyn, Mississippi. Required Skills
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
- Demonstrate thorough understanding of industrial control systems and Programmable Logic Computers (PLC's).
- Effectively maintain programming, hardware networking and communication; troubleshoot, determine causes of failure, and perform corrective actions.
- Support predictive and preventative maintenance program.
- Support internal projects.
- Diagnose, repair and or replace electrical components of machines including but not limited to motors, relays, overloads, cables, switches, sensor and variable speed drives.
- Capable of reading electrical schematics.
- New equipment installations
- Calibrating instrumentation equipment
- Able to troubleshoot and calibrate the following properly and safely: control panels using relay logic; Cam-driven switch boxes; process control valves; pneumatic control systems; hydraulic control systems; metal detection systems; ink jet coding systems, electronic scaling systems, electronic meters.
- Able to interface with and troubleshoot the following motor control equipment properly and safely: motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs); Servo motors and controls.
- Able to interface with and troubleshoot PLC's including: connecting to the PLC, reading ladder logic, and programming, diagnosing hardware and software problems.
- Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce quality materials output that meet product specifications and quality system requirements.
- Requires standing, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires the ability to perform work with hands and/or arms in the same repetitive motion above and below shoulder level.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education/Experience High school diploma or GED.
- 2 year degree in Industrial maintenance program.
- 4 year degree in industrial technology.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical control equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- 5 years PLC and HMI programming experience.
- Factory training in Allen Bradley PLC’s is strongly desired.
- 2-4 years maintenance mechanical experience.
- Familiarity with several brands of PLC hardware and software.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge and use of AutoCAD is a plus.
- Skills with pneumatic and hydraulic applications is a plus.
- Skills / Specialized Knowledge / Abilities
- Sound working knowledge of Electrical Safe Work Practices; AC and DC Electrical Theory; reading/creating electrical prints and control schematics; motor control; personal computer hardware and software; computer networks; pneumatic and hydraulic valves; photo eyes; proximity sensors; limit switches; breakers; fuses.
- Experience with full Industrial Control System project implementation.
- Basic mathematics.
- Advanced ability to prioritize own wide-ranging work load and work independently.
- Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
- Ability to maximize efficiencies and accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
- Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork
WORKING HOURS/ENVIRONMENT:
- Hours are typically 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. Schedule may change due to company demands.
- Overtime may be required with or without notice during the week and on weekends.
- Work is typically indoors in a climate controlled manufacturing environment.
