Location: Woodland, CA (next to Sacramento)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Hourly Pay: $24.50-$38.00 (depending on experience)

Schedule: 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday (plus overtime)

Shift: Can choose 5:00am-2:30pm or 1:30pm-10:00pm

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

InHarvest is hiring a Maintenance Technician to work out of our Woodland, CA location (next to Sacramento).

We are seeking a career minded Maintenance Technician looking to embrace InHarvest s culture and consider InHarvest Home .

The Maintenance Technician will work under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. The Maintenance Technician must know and understand the function of equipment throughout the whole building (plant and offices). This person will be responsible for more of the facility repairs, painting, light bulb/ballast repairs and machine Preventive Maintenance. In this position it is critical to comprehend and understand the importance of; and follow all safety policies, protocols and procedures at all times.

The individual needs to have experience as a maintenance technician in the food packaging or pharmaceutical packaging industry. A successful Maintenance Technician will be able to move into the Maintenance Mechanic position by embracing InHarvest s Food Safety culture, showing a hunger to learn how the production equipment operates and troubleshooting/repairing electrical and mechanical issues through the use of technical manuals and OJT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site s business goals and objectives.

Ensure work is performed based on daily/weekly/monthly/annual work schedules within the department.

Keep shop areas clean at all times and completely clean up any area that is being working in at the end of the shift and/or upon completion of a project.

Bring to the immediate attention of operator, shift leader, or Production Supervisor of any situation that could affect quality or safety of a product. i.e. dropping parts into product, spilling oil into product etc.

Perform work which meets an acceptable level of quality. i.e. Proper installation of parts according to manufacturer s recommendations.

Know and understand the function of all equipment; perform tasks assigned as instructed & troubleshoot as needed.

Repair, install and perform preventative maintenance on equipment. Assist where needed in case of equipment failure in order to minimize product loss.

Perform all work in accordance with company standards and established safety procedures; follow InHarvest Safety and Accident Prevention Rules including Lock Out/Tag Out processes.

Operate forklift safety and adhere to the forklift safety rules and perform forklift inspections.

Perform minor repairs of forklifts and other vehicles; perform extensive repair on packaging & blending equipment. (e.g. conveyors, augers, elevators, bearings).

Complete maintenance work order log.

Must be available off-schedule at times and work well with the schedule demands of a sales-driven packaging facility.

Work alongside others or independently to complete projects. Work with fellow Supervisors, Mechanics & Technicians to accomplish the goals of not only your department but the goals of InHarvest.

Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Good communication skills relating to employee interaction. Some Spanish preferred; not required
  • Working knowledge of electrical and PLC systems
  • Able to operate tools or equipment common to the trade
  • Knowledge to perform basic maintenance of production equipment. I.e. replace drive belts, conveyor belts, change bearings, and change electric motors
  • Knowledge of, HACCP, GMP s, Organic Handling Procedures, Allergen Control Program, Food Plant Security, Glass control, Quality related policies, and Safety programs, and ability to help ensure plant operations are complying with those programs
  • Knowledge/Experience with 36VDC/ 48VDC and 120VAC to 480VAC electrical systems to include installation and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge/Experience with stainless steel and mild steel fabrication/welding
  • Knowledge/Experience with pneumatic systems
  • Knowledge/Experience with hydraulic control

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associates Degree, or related certifications and or equivalent combination of education and experience in work. Working experience in Food Processing, Food Packaging or other related food industry field required.

Minimum Requirements

For a candidate to successfully fill the role above, we have determined the minimum requirements of education, language skills, mathematical skills, reasoning ability, physical demands, and work environment to be as follows:

  • Two years formal education and/or combination or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • English language skills: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Basic mathematic skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret conclusions based on that information.
  • Very high reasoning skills: ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Other: Welding certification a plus
