POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides a range of maintenance and repairs for facilities and equipment; transports needed materials; moves furniture and equipment between offices or buildings. Provide grounds keeping services as needed. Has access to protected healthcare information (PHI) or confidential identifiable information (CII), both paper and electronic, as necessary, to perform related job duties and responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • During the regular course of workday evaluates physical condition of the facility and grounds ensuring conditions are safe
  • Repairs and maintains buildings, including exterior and interior painting, and equipment as required
  • Perform monthly building inspection that includes submission of “Facility Safety Checklist.”
  • Moves and sets up furniture and equipment for conducts office moves
  • Transports equipment as needed
  • Ensures safety of agency vehicles, completing scheduled vehicle inspections on a monthly basis. Inspection includes submission of “Vehicle Inspection Checklist”, also on a monthly basis
  • Arranges for minor repairs, tune-ups, and oil changes
  • Provides list of janitorial or general upkeep supplies to be ordered
  • Coordinates lawn watering schedule and fertilizing needs
  • Oversees community service groups brought in to assist with landscaping
  • Advocates for the values of a diverse population within CHSW and the Community
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of and ability to operate hand tools, machines and equipment as needed
  • Proficient in MS Office

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Due to the unpredictable nature of maintenance technician’s day to day tasks, employees should be prepared to work in a variety of environments, and there is a possibility that workers will be on call.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Often wear protective attire, such as work gloves, hard hats, leather aprons, back support, and sturdy boots
  • Usually work indoors but may on occasion work outdoors repairing foundations and exteriors
  • Work in hazardous situations or with hazardous equipment weekly. Injuries are possible from electrical shocks, cuts, or falls
  • Are often exposed to machine sounds and noises that are distracting and uncomfortable
  • Work with contaminants often such as oils, solvents, and paints
  • May be exposed to very hot or cold temperatures weekly
  • Enter cramped workplaces monthly that require getting into awkward positions
  • Are sometimes in high places such as roofs or on ladders
  • Work in conditions of bright or inadequate lighting weekly
  • May work near others

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma/GED plus two years’ experience in performing general maintenance and repairs to facilities, including minor plumbing, carpentry, painting and minor electrical work, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the skills and abilities required for the position
  • Experience in performing minor vehicle repairs and maintenance
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Successful completion of a drivers check if position requires driving on a regular basis (at least three times per week) or drives consumers. Must not have more than two driving incidents within the last three years

SALARY RANGE: $15.30 to $16.50/hr DOE
