- Attain safety, quality and productivity goals
- Troubleshoot plant facilities and production equipment problems
- Maintain and update equipment records, schematics, blueprints and files in orderly fashion
- Obtain training for professional development and to stay current on maintenance and safety requirements
- Complete all work in accordance with OSHA, NEC, JIC and DNR standards and regulations
- Complete correspondence, forms and reports using personal computer and required software
- Maintain department repair parts stock and inventory
- Attend training as required
- Handle confidential information on a regular basis
- Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
- Promote and facilitate Open Door process and Fair Treatment
- Participate in Continual Improvement activities
- Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years experience as a machine repair/electrician experience or minimum 4 years experience in a technical service/repair non-trainee/apprentice role
- Associate’s Degree or Certification in Machine Repair or Electrical preferred
- Forklift License required
- Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
- Able to work well with others; build and maintain positive employee relations
- Able to prepare, read and interpret written reports, instructions, procedures and guidelines
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, suppliers and customers
- Able to maintain confidentiality, and use discretion and tact
- Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Able to work flexible hours and overtime to be available to three (3) shifts
- Able to use computer and software as required
- Able to work to blueprints and sketches
- Must have good color vision to perform electronic and electrical maintenance and repairs
- Able to lift 75 pounds
- Able to work at heights of 40 to 60 feet and in confined spaces
- The work environment is primarily manufacturing plant and is characterized by temperature extremes; loud noise and considerable tow motor traffic.
- The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
- Job responsibilities include heavy lifting (75 pounds), working at heights of 40 to 60 feet and in confined spaces
- Personal tools may be required
- Overtime as required.
