Job Description
Your Challenge!The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervision of plant maintenance personnel for their assigned shift. Responsibility includes supervision of assigned employees, assignment of work to plant maintenance personnel, coordinating proper maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of plant equipment. Responsible for the storage room inventory, supplies, and the parts for all equipment. Job ResponsibilitiesEnsures that all plant and facility equipment are maintained in a normal, safe and running condition.
Plan and coordinate work of maintenance employees.
Develop and manage the preventive and/or predictive maintenance program and take part in continuous improvement activities.
Participate in different work committees and follow up on activities (improvement projects, OH&S committee).
Management of work schedules, vacation and other holidays of the maintenance team.
Ensure the occupational health and safety laws are applied in everyday maintenance activities (confined spaces, lock-outs, internal rules, etc.).
Addresses safety issues and sanitation issues that require immediate attention.
On call every other week.
Always available for phone calls
Keep records of equipment and parts.Secondary ResponsibilitiesSupervises troubleshooting of all plant and facility equipment and advises mechanics on proper troubleshooting techniques.
Communicates company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.

Master and apply mechanical and electrical principles as well as production equipment and processes (general).

Master and apply management philosophy, collective agreement or mutual agreements (if applicable).

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field a plus; Industrial Millwright or Electrician certification an asset
  • 2+ years’ experience in maintenance supervision / management role preferred
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics; Proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budge
  • Advanced skills required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpentry, piping systems, PLC programming, instrumentation, inverters, air compressors, welding, and forklifts.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.
  • Ability to design, build, and fabricate new ideas.
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
