Job Description

Zinus USA is looking for a Maintenance Technician who has experience with Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps, Conveyors, TPM, and Purchase Orders.

MAJOR FUNCTION:

  • Responsible for all maintenance activities pertaining to foaming machine and tank farm areas – including predictive, preventative, and reliability maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots maintenance problems involving electrical, mechanical, and equipment repair or replacement.
  • Support engineering activities pertaining to the foam engineering department.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement, or new technologies for the current process.
  • Develop plans to increase throughput and machine reliability.
  • Manage maintenance technicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:

  • Originates develops and improves predictive, preventative, and reliability maintenance programs to maintain the reliability of components, equipment, and processes.
  • Assist in the installation of new automated manufacturing & facilities equipment.
  • Develop engineering solutions to eliminate repetitive equipment/process failures.
  • Track production losses and abnormally high maintenance losses and costs then find ways to reduce those losses or high costs.
  • Develops plans to eliminate or reduce losses through root cause analysis, obtains approval of the plan, and facilitates the implementation.
  • Lubricate equipment as needed, as well as identify and communicate opportunities to improve the lube program through new techniques, technology, and knowledge sharing.
  • Implements process enhancements in order to increase equipment uptime, improve product quality, and reduce facility costs.
  • Work as a team member in continuous improvement efforts for machine capacity utilization.
  • Help define equipment requirements, TPM components, modification, and common components.
  • Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
  • Collaborates with the product manager or plant engineer regarding new products being added and modifications that will be required.
  • Completes reports documenting work performed.
  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.
  • Log equipment history and tasks performed.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and plant rules, policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
  • Assist and perform, as needed, with duties assigned to Maintenance Technicians.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assumes other duties as assigned by Director and Foam Production Engineering Team.

PREREQUISITES FOR THE JOB:

  • Degree in engineering/maintenance-related field. May consider on the job experience of 10+ years.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment and lean manufacturing.
  • Must have detailed knowledge and experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical systems, motors, controls, PLCs, drive systems, pumps, compressors, tanks, conveyors, valves, and gauges.
  • Demonstrated experience in an ISO or document environment.
  • Knowledge and use of 5S and TPM activities.
  • Experience with performance management maintenance metrics for preventative and predictive maintenance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

  • Overtime and weekend work are common.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
