Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a diligent and dynamic Maintenance Mechanic Electrician to join our team of professionals who are committed to elevating the skilled trades with stellar work ethics in the maintenance of the College’s physical structure.
Essential FunctionsThe Maintenance Mechanic Electrician is charged with the responsibility of installing, maintaining, and enhancing the electrical systems and components, including fuses, lights, and wiring as well as perform all work in a manner that meets and follows electrical codes, blueprints, and standards. The Maintenance Mechanic Electrician will inspect, test, and diagnose issues with electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning and complete required documentation of repairs and service information. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring that there is adequate inventory of necessary supplies and parts as well as perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and components.
The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, team player who fosters collaboration. This individual will be able to demonstrate the use of best practice strategies associated with electrical theory, and with principles, materials, and equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a spirit of an independent problem-solver and the demonstrated ability to encourage, model, embrace, and incorporate diverse thought and perspective of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive environment.
Experience & EducationQualified candidates will have a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of electrical experience, the ability to read and understand electrical blueprints, schematics and diagrams and calculate basic mathematical problems. This individual will have a demonstrated ability to operate hand and power tools associated with electrical work. as well as the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and the ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel. A current Journeyman Electrician License required with a completion of an electrician apprenticeship program required, electrical program from a technical or trade school preferred.
