Where You Will Work
Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM) is the primary division of Stanley Black & Decker Aerospace. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments.
Summary
The Machine Operator maximizes efficiency through the process of set-ups and operations of various automatic machines for the manufacture of all types of parts for new or revised products. Works in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Operates equipment to produce machined parts according to blueprints, router package specifications and/or special instructions.
- Understands and uses drawings, manuals, and work instructions to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work-piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
- Starts and observes on-going machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
- Verifies conformance of finished work-piece to specifications.
- Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and comparators.
- Records the piece count and run time of the production times.
- Verify dimensions and alignment of assembly.
- Checks parts for conformance to specifications using micrometers, calipers and gauges and perform SPC
Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Working experience of manufacturing environment.
- A minimum of 0-3 years related industrial machine shop experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
