Job Description

General Conventional Machinist in Aerospace Manufacturing

• The selected individual must be open to learn, assimilate, and perform to our company standards.
• Must also have the ability to perform set-up, layout, and run Conventional Machinery such as Shears, Lathes, and Mills without assistance and minimal supervision.
• Must be familiar with aerospace materials and close tolerance requirements.
• Our Machinists determine cutting tools to be used, method of holding, and machine speeds and feeds for different materials such as stainless steels, aluminum, brass and composites, and also determine the process of milling, drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, slotting and profiling shapes as required.
• Must be able to work to tight tolerances.
• Able to use a wide variety of precision measuring equipment to inspect own work and validate drawing features for compliance. Deburr and clean parts as required for in-process and/or 1st Article Inspection.
• Performs general and preventative maintenance on equipment, this includes cleaning, lubricating machines and cleaning and organizing the work areas.
• Should be able to work on Manual Machines

Requirements:

• Five years minimum at conventional machining
• Must have your own full set of tools
• Manual milling, lathe, shear, and surface grinding
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Able to setup/run machines to achieve very tight tolerances

Excellent shop math skills and be able to communicate in English are a must.

This is a Full-Time, 40-hour-week position.
