FLSA status: Non-exempt
Location: Fresno
Manager Title: Deputy Director
Pay Rate: $23.00 - $28.75/Hourly (Depending on experience)
SUMMARY: To facilitate group psychoeducational sessions within MMC’s Life Transition Program (LTP). The facilitator will provide group (and possibly individual) psychoeducational sessions following a standardized format, to confront abusive communication and behavior in the home and community, and to address the underlying issues. The areas of instruction (which vary by group curriculum) include, but are not limited to, recognizing emotions, anger management tools, healthy communication, power and control, child development, healthy parenting, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement psychoeducational curriculum for clients referred by the court, probation, social services, and/or self-referred.
  • Attend group facilitator trainings and in-services.
  • Prepare/maintain client records, group sign-in sheets, and progress reports for timely dissemination (no later than the 5th of the month).
  • Cross-train for program intakes, Domestic Violence Inventories, and administrative duties, and provide coverage if needed.
  • Safeguard clients’ safety, security and confidentiality (including client records).
  • Utilize principles of Trauma Informed Care in all interactions with clients, staff, and constituents.
  • Safeguard assets of Marjaree Mason Center.
  • Work as a team and support the mission and goals of the agency and programs.
  • Four groups must be facilitated per week, otherwise dismissal of employment will occur.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance is required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

The Marjaree Mason Center is 24/7 operation and all employees, at any point of time, may be asked to perform other work duties from those normally assigned such as working in our emergency services.
. Requirements: QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Completion of 40-hour Domestic Violence Training, required.
  • Completion of additional BIP training requirements (Penal Code 1203.098) preferred.
  • BS/MA/MS degree in a human services field (Social Work, Counseling, Mediation, etc.), preferred. Experience may substitute for degree.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications.
  • Knowledge of meeting virtual platforms, preferred.
  • Ability and skill to deliver psychoeducational material and facilitate groups.
  • Ability, skill, and judgement to evaluate risk for future violence.
  • Proven, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to read analyze, and interpret, in English, professional journals or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or managers, clients, and the general public.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to understand the needs of offenders and survivors of family violence and other trauma, and a willingness to address their needs with action designed to create change.
  • Sensitivity to issues of family and community violence, particularly security issues.
  • Ability to work competently and without discrimination towards peoples of diverse cultures, races/ethnicities, socio-economic positions, ages, religions, physical/mental challenges/ disabilities and sexual orientation.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Possession of a valid California driver's license.
  • Proof of liability insurance on personal auto. Must be insurable at all times at standard rate by MMC insurance carrier.
  • Must pass tuberculosis test, drug test, and fingerprinting test.
