Minimum QualificationsGraduation from an accredited school of practical nursing meeting the minimum standards set by the State of Alabama. Licensure with the State of Alabama as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Essential Functions

These are the job duties required of the position.

Essential FunctionsProvides nursing care and administers treatments as directed by a registered nurse and/or physician to outpatients; assists registered nurse and/or physician with diagnostic tests and physical examinations, collecting routine specimens and taking and recording temperature, pulse, respiration and blood pressure; administers medications and injections according to orders which may include controlled substances; maintains patient records; performs various routine tests and procedures, including dipstick urinalysis, hematocrits, EKGs, tympanometry, audiometry, inhalation therapy, pregnancy tests, and blood glucose; maintains inventories of clinical supplies and medications; ensures that patient examination rooms are ready for use by patients, and that rooms are stocked with supplies and equipment; completes call backs to parents/guardians of patients by phone; prepares lab, X-ray request and referral forms; regular and prompt attendance; ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required; related duties as required.
