Loss Prevention Agent

Loss Prevention Agent Position Description:

The Loss Prevention Agent (LPA) is responsible for upholding and enforcing initiatives in loss prevention, safety and security. Reporting to the Director of Operations and Fulfillment, the LPA is responsible for ensuring ongoing protection of employees, visitors, company property and client merchandise.

The LPA must demonstrate diplomacy and respect in all dealings with staff and guests, including instances where theft or company policy violations have occurred; maintaining a fair and balanced view of all parties, regardless of race, class, religion, manner of dress, etc.

What You’ll Do:

• Supervise a metal detector to monitor, search, and maintain human traffic always
• Maintain the metal detector in good working condition. Notify the LPA Supervisor when repair is needed
• Obtain material pass approvals for moving products from restricted to non-restricted areas of the building
• Ensure that all relevant security forms are available for use
• Refer potential suspicious activity to the LPA Supervisor
• Monitor CCTV
• Escort unwanted individuals from the property as needed
• Prepare timely and complete reports relative to al theft incidents, merchandise recoveries, accident investigations, and other activities assigned by LPA Manager
• Apply restraints when necessary
• Maintain all required training as directed by the LPA Supervisor and VisibleSCM
• Manage, maintain, and issue first aid supplies and inventory
• Issue, track, and report on injury, illness, and accident grab-and-go packets
• Respond to emergency situations and contact the appropriate authorities
• Maintain a daily log for all events from the shift
• Wear Visible-approved LPA uniform daily
• Required to maintain a working phone, and to provide the LPA Supervisor and VisibleSCM with a working phone number
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends and holidays, with irregular hours as directed by VisibleSCM and the Loss Prevention Supervisor
• Responsible for guarding, patrolling, and monitoring premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of company policy

• High school diploma or GED
• Proficient in reading and writing in English
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as this job requires working closely with our employees and the public
• Two or more years of Security, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement or Military experience
• Must have a reliable mode of personal transportation, independent from a bus or train schedule
