Long Term Substitute Music Teacher (Choral) - Marlborough High School
Anticipated Dates of Employment:
September 19, 2022 - October 21, 2022
Salary:
$180.00 per day
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:
Directly responsible to the Principal in matters related to the building. Jointly responsible to the Principal, the Supervisor or Music and the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning.
Statement of Duties:
Responsible for instructional and general duties indicated by the Principal, Supervisor of Music, directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Marlborough School Committee.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Music Teacher (Gr 9-12) by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education preferred but not required
- Candidates for a position in Music Education must present evidence of training in the following areas:
- Curriculum and methods for Music Education
- Psychology in child and/or adolescent growth and development
- Proficiency as evidenced through transcript of undergraduate work in Music Education
- Experience with directing a vocal ensemble
- Knowledge of vocal pedagogy
- Graduate work in Music Education preferred
- Knowledge of Music Production preferred
- Experience with General Music Classes preferred
- Awareness and knowledge of Discipline Based Arts Education processes
- SEI Endorsement preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus
