The detail-oriented Logistics- Yard Control Specialist is to manage and coordinate “The Company’s” largest asset, machine, and attachment inventory. This person is responsible to assist monitoring and controlling machine and attachment inventories at all locations and will be responsible for the supervision of the yard techs in the Stockton location. Inventory control is to provide uninterrupted sales, rentals and/or customer-service levels at the minimum cost. This individual will need to be motivated and required to meet and exceed “The Companies” expectations. In this role, the person will be responsible for supporting the President of the company and Sales Manager with various inventory reports and recommendations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with inventory, machines, and attachments to insure they are ordered in a timely manner, accurately, and in the configuration conducive to our sales and rental departments in all locations.
- Establish minimum and maximum inventory levels to ensure that we always have the correct inventory to include our seasonality changes.
- Assist the Management to ensure that we control and keep cost at a minimum by reducing aged and slow-moving machines and attachments.
- Verifies physical inventory counts on a monthly basis through the use of the combined equipment list. Contact stores who have not completed monthly inventory audits.
- Adheres to and enforces the company’s Sales Policies and Procedures.
- Provide response to phone calls and email in a timely manner and be responsive.
- May require working on Saturday throughout the year.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with all departments.
- Develop and establish good relationship with vendor that is beneficial to our company.
- Assist Sales Manager when required to maintain an organized, neat and safe equipment yard.
- Assist with maintenance and show compliance with regulations in the Stockton facility (I.e. fire extinguishers)
- Receive and document delivered inventor and create PO’s for external trucking/freight.
- Must be Able to work independently and without supervision.
- Coordinate the most effective and efficient ways to make deliveries in a timely manner.
- Work well under pressure with ability to set and manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands of the work environment.
- Responsible for arranging transportation for various events and transfers.
- Monitor and track all rental/demo/transfer of machines and attachments.
- Ability to load and unload machines and attachments upon factory deliveries and all equipment in a safe manner.
- Ensure that all serialized machines and attachments are properly inventoried with stock numbers and tags. Non-serialized with stock numbers only.
- Ability to work flexible hours as necessary to accommodate customer’s needs.
- Crosstrain and be the backup for the Buyer-Inventory Controller.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- High school or equivalent (required).
- Associates degree in Business or related discipline preferred.
- Prior experience in sales, rental and or customer service experience is required.
- Familiar with the use of heavy equipment in a comparable industry experience preferred.
- Prior experience with equipment purchasing and inventory control is required.

- Must have a valid CA driver’s license and clean DMV record with the ability to drive locally between work sites.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic, environment, while maintaining a high level of detail is required on an ongoing basis.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands, use computer, use ten-key, talk, hear, talk on the phone, reach with hands and arms. It routinely requires the employee to walk, drive, stand, and bend at mid waist. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
This job frequently operates in a professional office environment and is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions, dust, walking on uneven ground, cold, extreme heat, and wet or humid conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, smartphones, projectors, etc.
