PetroChoice, a leading distributor of lubricants, oils, fluids, and greases, is currently recruiting an experienced Logistics Coordinator. A successful Logistics Coordinator will facilitate the implementation of the organization’s transportation strategy and reports directly to the Manager, Transportation and Logistics. This position will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and maintaining assigned business functions in order to accomplish the department’s goals. All Transportation departmental personnel will be expected to support the Sales and Operations teams by working efficiently, communicating effectively, and maintaining a high-level of professionalism.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following. The Company reserves the right to add to, delete, change or modify the essential duties and responsibilities at any time. - Assist the Transportation Manager in strategically planning, dispatching, and managing all loads and routes for internal transport drivers and 3rd party carriers (LTL, FedEx, UPS, etc.)
- Effectively schedule and communicate with internal transport drivers as needed
- Practice custodial responsibility of transportation records including bills of ladings, scale tickets, proof of deliveries and customer/supplier issued paperwork
- Aid in communicating and negotiating with freight carriers at a strategic level
- Evaluate suitability of new carriers and methods of transportation
- Understand Key Performance Indicators (KPI) relative to carrier performance
- Rapidly address issues or errors with 3rd party carriers and resolve problems quickly
- Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
- Process carrier claims for damaged goods quickly and facilitate reporting of damaged loads
- Become efficient in PetroChoice’ s Transportation Management System (MercuryGate)
- Assist in training and supporting Operations personnel on TMS usage and issues
- Collaborate with the Manager, Transportation and Logistics to plan and implement continuous improvement methods and strategies as they align with company objectives
Competency:
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- Working knowledge of MercuryGate TMS Software (Preferred, not Required)
- Experience with successful distribution and logistics management
- Working knowledge of computer systems and Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, balance multiple tasks, and facilitate operational success
- Understanding of basic Department of Transportation (DOT) Compliance
- Ability to work efficiently and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma/GED required; at least one to three years related experience and/or training
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of geometry and algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be fluent in the use of computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other report writing and project planning software. Experience working in an ERP environment is desirable. Experience with Roadnet is preferred.
