Purpose Responsible for managing Lock Desk Department and achieving department goals and objectives. Thorough knowledge of all real estate lending products and their corresponding loan systems is required. The position will build a full knowledge of pricing and product guidelines to efficiently and accurately support the interest rate risk of the pipeline, work with originators and processors to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Duties Lead and supervise a team of employees to support our lending and operations peers in applying rate lock policies and updating loans in the LOS to ensure all real estate loans are reviewed and locked according to credit union policy and procedures. Assist with the development and maintenance/update of rate lock and pricing policies and procedures. Ensures exceptional service by maintaining thorough knowledge of pricing policies, procedures and regulatory requirements and demonstrating a commitment to professional ethics. Review pipeline on daily basis in coordination with origination and processing departments to ensure that loans are priced accurately and updated timely to facilitate meeting targeted closing dates. Identify gaps and improve efficiency within the Lock Desk Department. Prepare daily/monthly reports to assist management in analyzing rate lock trends, pinpoint delays and provide input for processor/loan originator scorecards. Assist staff with questions related to rate locks and corresponding loan origination systems. Participate in the development, testing and implementation of new loan product offerings. Set a good example for employees in the areas of time management, member relations, dependability, and punctuality. Measure employee work performance and complete employee performance reviews. Promote teamwork and a collaborative environment across all areas of the Credit Union. Hold regular team meetings and one-on-one employee meetings to share best practices and address any areas of concern. Assist in interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of new hires to the department. Assist with the professional growth and development of staff. Accept other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Must have four-year degree, or CCUE Certification, or Associate in Arts degree or Associate in Science degree via the North Carolina College Transfer Program (NC-CTP) or equivalent experience managing a lock desk specializing in mortgage loans. Minimum of 3 years’ secondary market/lock desk, mortgage loan pricing, or equivalent experience required Must be organized and detail oriented. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead diverse teams. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving ability and critical thinking skills. Must understand and be dedicated to the Credit Union philosophy and work ethic. Must be able to cooperate and collaborate with co-workers and others. Must adhere to the work schedule and attendance policies established by the Credit Union. Job Environment Primarily onsite with potential for some rotational remote work with a dedicated, quiet work environment to make and receive phone calls. Some office setting work may be required with physical proximity to other employees and background noise. Physical Demands Must be able to comprehend and carry out job demands. Job requires a substantial amount of sitting. Use hands and fingers to press keys on a computer keyboard to enter or retrieve information. Use hands and fingers to press telephone keypad and lift telephone receiver. Must be able to comprehend phone calls. Must be able to lift 5 pounds.
