POSITION SUMMARY
The Local Solar General Laborer in the PEARCE Renewables Solar Division performs tasks involving physical labor at solar energy projects.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
Employees in the Solar Laborer position should expect to:
- Travel overnight in support of the company. (Up to 85% travel.)
- 1-2 years suitable employment experience; High aptitude and a strong work ethic is a must
- Be exposed to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
- Conduct maintenance of equipment (fueling, lubrication, etc.)
- Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds)
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of solar power plants in accordance with established standards and procedures; always maintains safety and professionalism
- Troubleshoot system problems and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment. Tests installed equipment, ensuring proper working order including daily mechanical electrical inspections
- Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to; work orders, service orders, time logs, and emergency information schedules
- Maintains inventory control of assigned equipment to ensure adequate stock levels
- Maintain high quality control on provided tools, vehicles and materials
- Train, mentor and develop laborers into Apprentices
- Ensure continuing education to meet safety and plant requirements
- Employment may require working on weekends and holidays, including an "on call" service availability via telephone/text message
- Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements. Maintain PEARCE Renewables company vehicle so that it is always clean, presentable, functional.
