Job Description

We are seeking a driven Loan Servicing Clerk I to join our Loan Servicing team! Primary responsibilities include supporting the Loan Servicing Department by assisting with the DMV, Loan Servicing, and Collections functions while maintaining the integrity of various reports and Member Service requests.

This position is responsible for the following:

  • Processes release of titles on all paid-off collateral loans.
  • Processes Death and Disability claims.
  • Processes Verification of loan request.
  • Performs the processing of titles for collateral loans within time frames established and follows up on receipt of outstanding fees.
  • Processes Check by Phone payments.
  • Prepares and processes GAP Claims.
  • Performs Loan audits on the Visa/LOC Over limit, Visa Non-Re-issue, Rates above 18% and below 4%, Paid Ahead, Small Balance Loan Payoffs, and Future due date reports.
  • Processes various CPI exceptions reports, loan add-ons, and adjusts payments. Processes CPI refund checks.
  • Prepares Lien Satisfaction to be notarized.
  • Ensures completion of the DMV portion of the consumer loan files.
  • Processes paid-off loan and collateral releases.
  • Assists in processing California titles through the FDI/Vintek system.
  • Corresponds with dealers, insurance companies, and members to retrieve title and/ or insurance losses as applicable.
  • Assists as the backup to the Loan Audit Specialist and pulls paid-off files for the DMV area as needed.
  • Assists with sending necessary documentation to LSC regarding Bankruptcy, legal, and repossessions issues.
  • Processes loan changes, adjustments, and assists in the preparation of loan deferments.
  • Prepares department billing for management's approval and pays bills related to repossession.
  • Complies with federal fair lending laws, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and the Fair Housing Act.
  • Complies with BSA and OFAC requirements within area of responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills required.
  • 1+ years in a DMV processing capacity for 50 states.
  • Knowledge of paperless title system.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel and Internet.
  • Familiar with consumer loan origination functions.
  • A high degree of confidentiality.
  • Basic knowledge of lending products and services.
  • Excellent member service skills.
  • Working knowledge of DMV laws and regulations.
