The processor is the point of contact for the customer after initial application and acts as a liaison between the customer, loan originator, underwriter and closer. Responsible for collecting documentation required to complete the mortgage application with the knowledge of underwriting requirements, agency and company guidelines. In addition, the Processor will review underwriting conditions, obtain additional requested documentation necessary for a final approval and prepare the loan for closing. Professional and effective communication with all parties both internal and external is expected at all times.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Receive and review new loan files
  • Process mortgages for submission to Underwriting
  • Prepare files for the Closing department
  • Effective pipeline management: pipeline consists of 30-40 loans
  • Accurately maintain estimated closing dates
  • Provide accurate closing projections throughout the month
  • Effective prioritization of actions to meet contract and rate lock expiration dates
  • Consistently and effectively update all loans
  • Maintain knowledge of bank’s residential loan policy, interest rates, closing costs and credit granting standards
  • Contribute to the team’s overall productivity as appropriate, helping co-workers when possible or assigned
  • Maintaining the highest level of both quality and professionalism is expected at all times
  • Attend training seminars as required to further develop job skills

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Effective listening, verbal and written communications skills
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with customers, fellow team members or others in performing the duties assigned

PREFERRED
  • 1-3 years’ loan processing experience in a financial environment
  • Working knowledge of AUS, appraisals, credit reports, flood certifications, 3rd party verifications, title work, and homeowner’s insurance
  • Mortgage loan origination system experience
