Summary:
SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the assigned manager, the Loan Assistant Supervisor is responsible for the training and development of the assigned Loan Assistants. This position is designed for smaller markets or those markets needing management of only a segment of the loan assistants in the Commercial, Consumer and/or Mortgage lending areas. The Loan Assistant Supervisor serves as the point of contact for CLU, CLS and Group Appraisal for markets that do not have a Loan Assistant Manager. The incumbent serves as a resource for all bank branches to ensure quality customer service and consistency through compliance responsibilities and sales and customer service efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provide direct oversight of the activities of the assigned Loan Assistants. Coordinate and allocate the workload in an efficient manner to ensure that all tasks and functions are completed in a timely manner. Provide prompt feedback to associates regarding performance of the assigned duties.
- Provide regular feedback gathered from Loan Assistants to CLS, CLU, Group Appraisal and bank management. Recommend solutions to address any issues that may arise.
- Request valuations and reviews from Group Appraisal. Communicate any value issues and work to resolve in a positive manner.
- Provide guidance/training to Loan Assistants regarding appraisal ordering process, system operation and procedures.
- Assist in credit administration, monitor documentation issues, exceptions and take leadership in keeping exceptions at an acceptable level.
- Serve as a resource to Loan Assistants for complex compliance related questions.
- Oversee the training and development of the Loan Assistants assigned.
- Assist Manager with CFB Sales efforts and Coaches and Managers meetings.
- Provide on-going support to lenders as needed by serving as a Loan Assistant. Travel to branches to fill in for coverage as needed.
- Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly supervises two or more fulltime Loan Assistants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting with interviews, hiring, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates. The incumbent has the authority and the appropriate influence to make recommendations regarding hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other associates within the guidelines of the bank’s procedures and guidelines for such change of status events. The incumbent provides planning, assigning, and directing work assignments and schedules; addressing complaints and resolving problems; training associates.
Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Five (5) years previous experience as a Loan Assistant, Loan Operations/Documentation Specialist or equivalent related experience required.
- Three (3) years previous experience with lending compliance and banking regulations required.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Lending or ability to complete in the first 90 days required.
- Current NMLS SAFE Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
- Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous experience in multiple areas of lending preferred.
